Headshots are not the first thing you need to worry about when you start acting.  The first is training; but soon after that, Headshots!  Now, the important thing about headshots is that it showcases "you".  Not your clothes, not your new jewerly, nothing but you.  The focus of the headshot should be you and my eyes should go straight to your eyes - not to the background or the cool necklace you had on that day. Second, it is important to capture you in the character type that you will be getting called in for the most.   Are you a guy that has short hair and was in the military or police force?  Ok, that being said, we know you may be getting called in often as that character type.  Let's make sure we have a headshot that showcases the essence of those "go-to" roles!

You also never want to be over photoshopped, as it makes casting think you are covering up or hiding something.  There are some great headshot photographers around Los Angeles and New Orleans.  Below are a few shots of some students of The Dean West Acting Studio and examples of what we offer at the DWAStudio.
